Career
Sophie Devine was started her cricketing career after got selection in the New Zealand women’s national cricket team at the age of 17. She was also one of the youngest members of the New Zealand Cricket Team.
Devine has played for many different teams since 2003. In November 2018, she was named in the Adelaide Strikers squad for the 2018-19 Women’s Big Bash League season. In January 2020, Devine was also named as the captain of New Zealand’s Women squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. In the same tournament, Sophie scored her first century in T20 World Cup match against South Africa.
In 2020, Devine also became the first cricketer, male or female, to make six consecutive scores of fifty or more in T20I cricket.
In the same year, Sophie was nominated for the ICC Women’s T20I cricketer of the Decade Award.
