Vicky was born on 16 May 1988 in Mumbai. While Vicky Kaushal was born into a middle class family, he was able to fulfill his dreams and make himself a name in the industry in a relatively short amount of time.

Family

Vicky’s father, Sham Kaushal, is a Bollywood action director and stunt coordinator who has worked on films such as Slumdog Millionaire, 3 Idiots, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. His mother Veena Kaushal is a housemaker.

His brother Sunny Kaushal is also an actor. He has been associated as assistant director in movies like Gunday and My Friend Pinto. He has also done amazon prime popular web series The Forgotten Army

He recently got married with Katrina Kaif in December 2021. He got married in Six Senses Fort Barwara, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. This marriage got a huge sensation due in all over the internet for atleast a month.

Education

Vicky did his schooling from Sheth Chunilal Damodardas Barfivala High School, Mumbai.

Kaushal graduated as an Electronics and Telecommunications engineer in 2009 from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology. He had job offers but as he aspired to become an actor, he got involved with theater.

He joined an acting workshop under Kishore Namit Kapoor. He trained himself as an skillful actors.

Vicky started his career in film industry as an assistant director. When he decided to not to do the corporate jobs. He started accompanying his father on the sets.

He went on to do minor roles in films like Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and Bombay Velvet besides a short film, Geek Out. He kept doing theatre, in the meanwhile, with the groups of Manav Kaul and Naseeruddin Shah among others.

Vicky debut in Bollywood as a lead in Masaan, in which he gained recognition for his amazing acting skills. Masaan is a Neeraj Ghaywan directorial drama film which is dedicated to actor Sanjay Mishra’s father.

His performance won him the IIFA Award and Screen Awards under the category of the Best Male Debut, and a nomination for the Asian Film Award for Best Newcomer, among other accolades.
